I LOVE SHEEP!!!
It took a few weeks to get settled in our new location, and I love getting back to some 'art work' again! Some of those boxes are just going to have to wait to be opened............

CROCHETING FOR A CHANGE....
I decided to do some crocheting for a change. My granddaughter wanted to learn how to do that, so I couldn't let her down, could I? That meant going online to 'refresh' my skills, since I had not done any crocheting for many years.........
I tried a few simple things and I have had a lot of fun doing these coasters. Another great item to add to my 'quick, last minute gift' stash! I like to use strips of fabric to hold a set of four coasters together.

HANDMADE GREETING CARDS
I love making my own greeting cards! It is a wonderful way to use up little snippets of interesting fabric. Can you tell I love sheep? But then again, cows are such fun, also!
And then there are beads, sequins, roving, yarn, and my collection of fine-line pens and colored chalk.
Sometimes I frame these cards, and given them as a small gift. The recipient would then still be able to use the card in other ways.
Available in my Etsy shop.

BOARD GAMES
Remember Mousetrap? Our boys loved it and here one of them is playing it with a friend. This picture was taken in 1965. We now enjoy seeing our grandson play the same game with his friends!
When my parents would visit us, we would always have a game or two of Scrabble. ( Please note the use of 'clippies' in my hair, to ensure a great hairday the following morning!) This game was played in 1962, and we still love the game!!

HAIRCUTS, today and in 1964
I just gave another haircut to my husband. He is so used to having me do that, and I have been cutting his hair for many, many years.
Well, when our kids were little, my husband cut the kids' hair, and he even gave his Dad an occasional haircut!
I have always loved his hair, and first saw 'those waves' when he was still in highschool. But it's a good thing that his hair is somewhat curly, as my 'mistakes' as an amateur barber are not as noticeable!

Sweet Peas
Today the first of our sweet peas were ready to pose for a picture! They have always been one of my favorite flowers and I love the sweet fragrance! The reason for the happy result? NO BUNNIES in this neighborhood! We have lived here four years and we have never, ever, seen any rabbits!

BRING ON THE HOT DOGS!!
Well, since our house is still on the market, I might as well do some 'crafty stuff ', to keep my mind off the cobwebs gathering on the windows. (I have some very persistent spiders, and each day I am out there with a broom, to remove them. The following morning the web is there, as perfectly made as before! Now that is teaching me a lot about patience.....)
So, another fun project finished, and more to follow.........................
Stay tuned!

ENTERTAINMENT CENTER in 1961
Remember the old radio-recordplayer? We would have to take off all the 'knick-knacks' so that we could open the lid, and then play our 78's and LP's. Here I am, ready to play a newly purchased record!
And then there was the small, black and white TV. It was pretty special to finally have our very own set! But we didn't know that decades later they would 'invent' the remote control!
Ignorance is bliss, and life was good in 1961!

' OLD HAT ' MEMORIES
We are going though our slide collection and converting them all to digital pictures.
It is taking us a long time, since we often have to stop and reminisce, laugh, and recall when some of those slides were taken.......
This picture made me realize how well hats worked for us: you didn't have to worry about a 'bad hairday', or: ' didn't have time to wash it'...., etc. It was certainly a 'must' for going to church!
I remember one Easter Sunday when my mom and my aunt both showed up in church wearing the same hat! ( I am not sure who returned her hat........)
Anyway, go ahead and laugh......., but I thought I was very stylish in 1969!

A HOUSE IS JUST A HOUSE
We decided to sell the house. Our dearest wish is to move closer to the kids, and have fewer miles between us.
So now the fun has started: no dehydrated nightcrawlers allowed on our driveway and no streaks on any mirrors. Also, no dust bunnies allowed anywhere in the house, and toilet lids should always be down!!!!
Each morning we promise each other to keep our sense of humor and stay sweet! After 52 years of marriage, this is not exactly the first time we are facing another move.......
